WEST AFRICAN BEATS

West African Beats is an annual concert series celebrating the soul of high art and music that was brought to the Americas across the middle passages along with the multiple percussive keyboards, string, wind instruments, drums, and flutes.  West African Beats is a contemporary inspiration of this exciting and important music.  In the Dranoff 2 Piano’s West African Beats festival the art is embodied and interpreted in performance by top pianists, percussionists, vocalists, and choreographers from Africa, the Caribbean, and across the West in the forms of Classical, Jazz, and Afro American regional music and dance.
