OCTOBER  2015

Dear Friend -

This month's newsletter is mainly about a carrot and a date.

The carrot dangling before you is a 10% discount when you purchase your season ticket before November 1!

The date? November 19, Give Miami Day 2015. Because it is one of the most exciting philanthropic events in Miami, and because it is so important for our organization, I plan to break my regular monthly newsletter cycle and give you weekly updates and then daily updates. Please plan to participate! Early details below.

What does a season ticket get you? Four great concerts and two world premieres, in four different venues shared by those who, like you, are thrilled by live performances.

The January 10th concert is our second collaboration with the Coral Gables Art Cinema to bring you Film goes Classical 2.0. This concert, played by Canadian Duo Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann, features composers connected to Hollywood such as Jerome Moross and George Gershwin, performed together with images and film clips of the movies relating to the music played.

On February 14th, another Canadian pair of pianists, Duo Turgeon, celebrate the recently opened diplomatic relations with Cuba with 2 Pianos for Latin Music Lovers at the New World Center in Miami Beach. The concert includes music by Lecuona, Mignone, Gustavino, Pinto, Piazzolla, and Ponce. Further, it presents the world premiere of the second Bacardi Choice Award composer Manuel Valera's Migrant Voyages.

March 22nd brings the German Duo d'Accord to the Coral Gables Congregational Church for 2 Piano Classical Classics. The duo will bring us the most notable names of Mozart, Back, Prokofiev and Liszt, as well as the world premiere of the Japanese composer Keiko Fujiie along with the Dranoff commissioned piece Lilliburlero Variations by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett.

The season ends on April 13th at the Adrienne Arsht Center with Piano Slam 8, the multi-media performance extravaganza completing Dranoff's program that uses music to teach language and science. Dutch pianist Maarten Van Veen teams up with American pianist Bobby Mitchell to create an exciting musical canvas of classical, contemporary, hip-hop and spoken word concert that gives Miami's young student poets a place to shine.

VIP tickets include access to special receptions for some wine and hors d'oeuvres to share with their friends. Again this season, Bacardi USA sponsors an open bar at intermissions.

Don't miss this season! It is timely, fun, passionate and of the highest artistic level. Get your season tickets and know you have our gratitude because your investment now makes planning so much easier. Carrots and dates - more than edibles.

Warm regards,

Gabriele Fiorentino
President, Dranoff Board
